Went to visit a friend yesterday and she is worried about a girl that her son has taken in. Apperently this girl said she was from russia on a weeks holiday and this is why she let her stay. She had applied for a job and told my friend she didnt get the job as she needed a work permit and she is still staying there and not paying anything towards keep.my friends husband dont seem to be bothered much but i told her she may get in trouble for having her there .What is the situation on these permits so I can tell my friend as I know she is a bit laid back and needs someone to put her right . my friend does not want her there .thanks for any advice.

I would be very careful .. this happened to a friend of mine and the next thing he knew she had used all her womanly ways and seduced his mate and was immediately pregnant. Now he has a son he did not really plan for in any way and she went straight back home after the birth and he is unlikely to see the child and she put in a claim for money straight away and so he is now paying for the child until he is 18. Not saying that is in any way going to happen to your son but it does make you wary !

thanks lady -p-gold for your reply. it is not my son but my friends and i shall certainly make her aware of this
I was just about to post a similar reply as lady_p.
A good friend of mine met a Russian girl on the internet 18 months ago, and the next thing you know she just "popped over" to see him. A Month later she was claiming she is pregnant, and telling him he will be paying for upkeep. The intent was the same as with lady_p, get money quick.
I have no experience with regard to her staying, but I think the maximum allowed is a 6 month visit.
.

I got chatting to a russian girl at a children's play centre. Turns out she became pregnant as above but stayed here because of the fantastic benefits she gets as her son has autism. She told me excitedly that she even had free driving lessons!!

After she had the baby, she originally went back to Russia but they have no benefit system, so she came back here. She is doing rather well for herself now ...has her own house, no job (of course), money from him (never let him see the child) money from us!! The thing that 'got' me, was that she was telling me all this as though it was something to be proud of!

So beware of pretty Russia girlies!!
