Judas was following God’s wish to sacrifice Jesus for humanity,

Is it right for Some Christians to demonize him?

Ps I’m a Christian btw but I came across this question tonight and it got me thinking.

I’ve not thought of that aspect before?

I guess my answer wld be that I don’t demonise Judas...i kinda feel sorry for him

It's taken you this long to work out that Judas and his action was vital to allow Paul and others make a large following for that religion ? That surprises me.
Do you also feel sorry for Satan? Also a part of God's plan?
After all God made him with the full for-knowledge of what will happen?

When you say ‘Judas was following God’s wish’, it suggests that Judas was aware of God’s
plan and consciously played a part it? Is that what you mean?
He only came to prominence because of his massive stock of booze.

Judas, his carry out.
Eve - In my experience, all followers of all religions pick the bits that they feel comfortable with, and jettison the rest.

No problem, that's just human nature, but if you find you are agonising to the levels that a few on here do, I'd suggest you just let it lie, it's not worth getting yourself into a state over.
I don't think that Eve is getting in a state, Andy. It's just something to mull over.
I think that eve is a questionitive youngster.
And more than likely brought up in a faith and is finding her way out.
I think Eve will be highly amused by those assessments.
I'm sure I actually heard her eyeballs bumping into the stop as they rolled in her head. :-)
//I think Eve will be highly amused by those assessments//
Whatever, eve is obviously questioning her previously held beliefs, cant be a bad thing to question surely?
Mary Webb put the idea into one of her weird romances back in the 1920's
Theres not one jot of evidence that Judas ever existed anyway (or any of the other Gospel charachters) so its all mute anyway.
I wouldn't know Eve from Adam :-(
Tilly - // I don't think that Eve is getting in a state, Andy. It's just something to mull over. //

I'm not suggesting that she is - merely trying to avoid the daily hand-wringing and angst that some regulars on here post daily - it's not good for anyone.
I know it's frowned upon but, moot.
LOL Doug,
rightly so...
moot it is
Poor old Phaeroa had free will like the rest of us, but was created for destruction.
Judas had a choice about whether to betray to Jesus or not. He had freewill like we all do. Ultimately God knows everything, so knew that Judas would sin in this way.
Its a paradox. When I get to heaven I expect to be able to debate with God after Free will, predestination etc. Maybe the discussions will go on for millions of years at a time
Not these days ...
