Some people here seem to be in a permanent state of confusion over what I think are quite simple guidelines for the gradual easing of lockdown and for getting people back to work….so here’s their opportunity to shine. If you were in charge, how would you do it?

Expanding on the OP slightly, I would be more adventurous. Since the A levels season is upon us (whether the exams are sat or not). Year 13 will not be in school/college now anyway. I would, therefore, certainly allow 6th form colleges to open, since they will only have the Year 12 students in college and "double" the space available to safe distance. Likewise...

//it's your claim that 'lockdown measures would be the cause of those deaths.//

It's not 'my' claim. Read the Telegraph article I posted headed 'Coronavirus crisis may lead to 20,000 more cancer deaths.'
I can't read it all as it is behind a paywall for me. From what I can read it says that patients have been foregoing treatment due to fears of overburdening NHS or contracting virus in hospital. That doesn't mean it's because of the lockdown measures, it means it's because of the virus.

Ah, right, but that’s debatable. The virus is the reason we’re in lockdown - and you claimed yourself that without lockdown the numbers would be greater. Incidentally the report also says there has been a 76 per cent drop in urgent referrals of suspected cancer, so not by any means all due to patients being reluctant to burden the NHS. I think you’re able to read that bit.
09:04 - the ball is in my court?
So I take it you see nothing requiring change.
Why should you?
You are OK.
Question Author
No changes, Theland? Seems you're okay too then.
I asked you if change was needed and if so what?
The status quo seems to suit you judgingnby your silence on the matter.
Question Author
This isn't about me, Theland. You were the one who said you want changes so I asked you what changes you want. Why so reluctant to tell me?
Yes it is about you.
Several posters have indicated change required only to be challenged by you.
FF @ 09:45 says it all.
An exercise in one upmanship.
Same old, same old, don't you just love it?
No.
Question Author
Theland, stop with your spitefulness. I haven't 'challenged' anyone. You want changes, I've asked you what changes you want, that's all. If you don't want to join in the conversation, don't. It's not difficult.
There you go, ff.

'Spicerack//>The Coronavirus has already cost more lives in a month than most flu seasons do in a year//

Don't think so.
Stands by for very selective answer.'
Spicerack- you seem to be confusing me with jim360
Well we are still I full lockdown so I am eating cake and drinking gin
-- answer removed --
There seems to be more reporting of people 'dying of' rather than 'dying with' C19.

Maybe I just read lazy reports.
No, I copied that from your post, ff. If you will keep taking jim's 'facts' and using them to bolster your arguments, I'm entitled to correct you.
Although you could use your own brain once in a while.
That was jim's quote and your reply. Maybe you've had a bad day and need to take it out on strangers tonight. I'll leave you to it
There's something just wonderfully special about seeing someone value the nation's health over their own personal interests and making that sound like a bad thing.
