Naomi - God, that is Jesus, summed it all up.
Two commandments.
Love God and love each other.
In these are all of the prophets.
In these is the moral authority.
Simple and concise,.
\\ Love God and love each other//
Why is the Bible, which according to you is the word of God, so full of death and destruction?
Why should we love a God who doesn't love us?
That's nonsense, Theland. They didn't practise what they preached, that's for sure.
Question Author
Your knowledge of the bible is sadly lacking which leads you to such errors.
//Your knowledge of the bible is sadly lacking which leads you to such errors.//
Says the man who hasnt read it...
Well spotted, nailit. ;o)
\\Your knowledge of the bible is sadly lacking which leads you to such errors.//
By your own admission you haven't read all the bible so this statement applies equally to yourself.
Question Author
So now do I have to sink to the level of a playground argument?
No thanks.
Slap each other on the back and boost your egos.
What exactly are you suggesting I am missing out on?
What exactly motivates you to attack the bible and me, when you proudly proclaim your atheism?
//Slap each other on the back and boost your egos//
Why do you keep coming out with statements like this when challenged?
Naomi, Vulcan and myself have merely pointed out your inconsistency in accusing others of lacking Bible knowledge when you admittedly havnt read it yourself.

Youve worked on Liverpool dockyards. So how would you react to someone like me...whose only experience of shipping is a cruise to Amsterdam...telling YOU that YOUR knowledge of shipping is sadly lacking?
Theland, preaching what you say are simple and concise instructions is disingenuous if you flout them. Your bitterness is evident.
Question Author
Believe me ABers, I am not bitter about anything.
I am, however, perplexed as to why my beliefs evoke such heated reactions from the usual suspects.
This is supposed to be a conversation, not a shouting match and a point scoring competition.
Anyway, I lose don't I?
You're the only one on the attack, Theland - and still playing the victim.
Question Author
I'm not attacking anybody. Example?
You have let the whole conversation drift away.
And playing the victim?
Oh do please sing another song.
No, Theland, you sing another song. You instigate discussion and then cry foul when people disagree with you - and you do it constantly.
Question Author
By all means disagree, but why the trip wires and mocking?
Is that really necessary?
What trip wires - and what mocking? Examples?
Question Author
"I'm talking nonsense."
"I've never read the bible."
Just two.
But the tone of your comments is totally unfriendly, for no reason.
Theland, when you preach love for your fellow man and then post stuff that indicates that you clearly despise those who don't adhere to a faith, you are talking nonsense - and you haven't read the bible.
Question Author
I certainly do not despise anybody.
I feel sorry for people misled by religion.
As regards my bible studies, neither you or anybody else know where I am up to or how much time I spend in study so that is a really cheap shot.
Morality is subjective and Theland's threads seem to descend into farce, whether they're religion based or not.
