Totally disgusted that transgenders can self identify and then walk into a ladies toilet, changing room or other female safe spaces.
What a cheek. What a disgrace. I am disgusted with them.

don't think transgenders should be allowed to cross in sport ..as men will always be stronger whatever they wear or how they identify...toilets I don't have a problem really ...but communal changing rooms I would I think.... and by that I mean one room dressing not lots of cubicles....
50% of transgender people suffer from serious suicidal tendencies

spath at 08:14, Is that a reason to allow them to use ladies toilets?
I think some posts could do with a little more human understanding and forbearance. That stated, there is undeniably a problem for society with folk opting to pretend they are the opposite sex. Seems to me there needs to be special facilities, etc., labelled 'confused' or some such, so they can do 'their thing' without disturbing the normality other citizens are entitled to assume is so. Normal people are people too, they don't deserve to be deceived.
Well said, OG.
I get a whiff of mischief. :-)
How on earth did people manage when in,for example, in France when most lavatories were unisex..I remember washing my hands next to the urinals many times...perhaps some peoples waste disposal system was able to be put on hold between Calais and Spain!!!
Clearly people can wear and present however they like. What is not acceptable is to pretend you have changed sex and to force the rest of the world to pretend to believe it.
Even transsexuals, who are genuinely dysphorric don't do that and they have had ops, hormones etc.
This is a vile, violent, aggressive cult. I wish I had never looked into it.
It would make much more sense to educate men into accepting their own, no matter if they look different, than intimidate women into moving up and shutting up to protect men from other men.

In shopping centres, women often have to wedge prams and pushchairs into the doorways. They don't fit into cubicles and people don't want to leave their child the other side of a locked door in public. They aren't always a private haven.
In pubs, they often go to the loos, in pairs, to get away from pestering men. How is that going to work if they can just be followed in?
Spot on. Pixie. Dare to criticise any of these people and you are automatically labelled the vilest of 'phobics'.
I know- even the MPs and media are terrified of them- there is going to be a massive backlash. This is so regressive. In 20 years people will look back and won't believe this was even considered.
MallyJ, //How on earth did people manage when in,for example, in France when most lavatories were unisex//

Some still are, but unisex toilets are open to all and that is not what is being proposed here.
All these issues can be easily resolved by putting a sign on the door: "No perverts please". Then women can be reassured that anyone wanting to use the loo is just there for their business and that's it.

The other day on another thread I quoted Jenny Roberts, who had trans surgery 20 years ago, and says "A lot of trans women want to believe they are women but we're not. We bring our male traits and habits with us". They do.
Jim, that's not clever.

Any chance of answering my question at 06.04?
Where should transmen go?
Of course they do, Naomi. Male pattern violence isn't even lowered in transsexuals. How does putting on a dress and parodying every stereotype of a woman you have ever seen, make someone safer? I can't see how this kind of behaviour is anything other than ignorant, offensive and insulting.
"Is that a reason to allow them to use ladies toilets?"

No. But it is an insight into the insecurity most trans people feel.
