Apologise to who?
Neither Boris not this lady should apologise.

It's called freedom of speech.
I agree with Nick.
Sorry I mean ymb ;-)
Isn't Boris a famous adulterer?
In the circumstances her remark doesn't seem to be something to apologise for.
The only apology due is from those who wear, and those who endorse, Islamic face/headcoverings because what they’re actually saying is that they regard every man on the planet as a potential sexual predator. No greater insult than that.

Kay Burley (Webbo’s link) should be thoroughly ashamed of herself. What a creature!
Naomi. that may be your interpretation but it is not true. Some women wear the Burqa for religious reasons Viz
//The Koran calls for both men and women to 'cover and be modest'.//
//The Koran calls for both men and women to 'cover and be modest'.//
If that is the ruling why then do only women cover their face?
People should apologise for whatever if they think they’ve done something wrong and are sorry. If they don’t think they are wrong and are not sorry then apologising is pointless.
Boris is a bit of a tit but I’ve heard worse. If Ms Huq is sorry she said ‘shagged’ on the Channel 4 News then I’m sure she’ll apologise.
I could imagine her and Boris teaming up on some sort of comedy double act. ‘Boris and the Pillar box’ - guess which is which ...
Danny, it’s not my interpretation. It’s what it is. Women (and men) are advised to dress modestly in order to avoid unwanted advances or falling foul of temptation.

// what they’re actually saying is that they regard every man on the planet as a potential sexual predator. No greater insult than that.//
That is the part of your post that I referred to as being your opinion.
Modesty? Then why do they wear eye makeup?
Theland, are you really saying that wearing eye makeup is immodest?
Don't the vast majority of non Muslims also modestly to some degree- skirt not too short, bras under blouses, hairy chest/six packs normally covered up in public, etc. It's just a question of degree isn't it? Is that actually saying we all regard every man or woman on the planet as a potential sexual predator? Of course not.
Vulcan - I think that is why so many men have beards
Apologise, for what, she was hilarious!Dont think even Boris would be bothered so why should anyone else. One good thing about Boris he can see the funny side of things unlike a lot of people.Political correctness going ott!!
Rupa should apologise if she's sorry.

Kay let herself down badly with that line of questioning/comparison.
danny, if the reason for wearing this garb is to avert any potential sexual attention, it isn’t just my opinion. These women are covering up lest, at the sight of their hair, any man they many encounter is unable to control himself ... and that includes you. I'm not a man, but if I were I'd be pretty miffed to be regarded in such a way.
I still that is your opinion, and I doubt that it is shared by any reasonable person.
All I am saying, is why wear eye makeup as it might make a mans sap rise and he becomes like raging sexual nut Job?
