i was gonna make a new account to talk about this so you didnt all think i was mad but the fact that we would have had the same avatar could have been a dead giveaway :P
anyway..... ive always had lucid dreams and often had what people refer to as sleep paralysis but ive always thought there was more to it than your brains awake but your bodies not kind of thing....if there was just the sense of paralysis i could believe it but the sense that something evil is in the room with me makes me believe its more than that... also i had this long before i heard others had it and after reading about it i find it completely weird that people throughout the ages from all different backgrounds and cultures can have the same experience of an evil thing near them
to cut a long story short a fortnight ago i gave someone a personal belonging of mine then later joked he was going to do voodoo on me
since then i have had night terrors a lot worse than ever before.... im not stressed, i dont touch alcohol or any drugs at all.... i spoke with a friend whos alim and he advised me to among other things play a recording of quran while i sleep... i did this for 2 or 3 nights and nothing happened. last night i forgot to put it on and it was back full force
so my question is simple.... do you believe witchcraft exists?

Yes, I was going to mention that I haven't been watching horror movies, as I don't really like them. Just reading newspapers and history books.

ludwig: one extremist does not a religion make. By your reckoning every Catholic would be a homosexual paedophile, every muslim a terrorist, every ..well I could go on but won't. If you choose to judge any religion, group of people or following solely based on the lunatic actions of a tiny minority then you have a very blinkered outlook on life.
im not shooting anyone... im merely saying theres been countless posts by yourself where you state/imply/suggest that anyone believing in religion cannot be normal/intelligent/sane etc ... the thing is you yourself are choosing to state adamantly there is no God without proof.. those that believe cant prove there is, those that dont cant prove there isnt but in your arrogance you state there isnt as fact

Where? I don't believe I've ever stated that as a fact. I have, however, said many times that if a creator God exists at all, my studies lead me to believe it is not the God of the Bible and the Koran. I really think you should stop making unfounded accusations and read the posts more carefully.

Pdust, my previous post re. an atheistic mindset was meant to be helpful not critical. I have no fears about the devil, god, voodoo, hexes, whatever because I cannot see how they could possibly exist. Once you are prepared to believe in the supernatural you open the floodgates of irrationality and fall victim to frightening ideas such as you have. I suspect that your Alim friend is not a trained medic, the koran isn't a cure for everything.
i have had sleep paralysis, it was down to extreme anxiety, to do with my o/h death, it had no basis in any type of witchcraft. the mind is a powerful thing, and it can be bent, warped and twisted, but not by someone shaking a juju stick at you, but by one's own anxieties, fears. It can make you do things, affect your body in ways that seem strange even to learned doctors, i know because i fight this every day.

em i really didnt think i was hexed or had any evil eye on me, it was just me saying that jokingly that led to my question but i do think theres more to whats happening than my brain is awake and my body asleep (hope ive got that the right way round lol)

I’m not quite sure if you really don’t understand, or whether you are determined not to understand, but since you’ve already acknowledged that I’ve never insulted you, and I see no retraction of your unfounded accusation, I suspect the latter. I don’t mind if you get personal – sticks and stones and all that – I’ve become accustomed to it on these pages - but that doesn’t counteract an ‘opinion’ – it simply endorses the oft-quoted saying that “When you resort to attacking the messenger and not the message, you have lost the debate.” Your choice, of course, but this is a discussion site, and by choosing to continually display your adopted religion, which you do, you are voluntarily exposing it to scrutiny and, therefore, you cannot expect other contributors to agree with it, to respect it, or to conceal their disdain for archaic philosophies that promote lies as fact. In short, if you choose to post on an open forum where, by its very nature, you will find an enormous assortment of opinions, you can hardly blame others for your subsequent inability to defend your position.
