I love people from all walks of life as diversity and difference is the spice of life, but i can't for the life of me ever get to grips with the way country folk talk, the way they say "Summat" instead of something, the way they say "T" instead of The and yesterday i was standing in trafalgar square and actually heard someone say with a slow drawl "we had the BESTEST time didn't we" ARRGH! "Bestest"? I actually asked him where he was from and he told me and i thought i will seriously avoid ever going to that place if they all talk like that, lol.
What accent or the way people talk from the uk really enrages you?

No accents enrage me. I don't like some but not to the extent that they'd put me in a rage, that's just weird.
enrages?? None of 'em.

There's some I'm not keen on, might even dislike, but enrages me? None!
None...
Question Author
Okay, enrage was maybe too strong a word, what accent etc.. slightly miffs you or irritates you

Where are you lot from anyway, i find that country folk can generally tolerate each others accents and only the very strong real accents (london, Welsh, Scottish) tend to dislike others
I don't mind London accents but one bloke in particular used to yell ' Awwwirght treacle' at my wife somehow managing to miss the 'c' in treacle altogether which soemhow made me want to hang, draw and quarter him. Mind you I'm from the North of Ireland, probably one of the most hated accents in the whole world.
I've said it a million times but Welsh people who pronounce U as EW make me want to stab them.
I like it NOX....But my grand parents are NI :-)
NOX - love it, treacle, that's straight out of Eastenders.

My accent is pretty much RP, but I love my OH's Brummie accent (not the same as Black Country, which is what most people think of as Brummie). I can't say I dislike any accent really, as long as I can understand what's being said.
Oi kiki, don't you get calling me a Brummy, Black Country through and through me.
Question Author
Lol, i say treacle and as nox says you say it "Treeall" loud and brash
tony - bloody yamyams!
i find london accents can be a bit harsh and northern incomprehensible, but on the whole i like accents, esp south west.
Oi, I bloody heard that kiki, bloody Brummies.
LOL tony, you wouldn't want to hear what my bluenose OH has to say about Villa fans. Ooh, goodie, I feel a scrap coming on!
;-)
Jaysus, not only a Brummie but a bloody Blue nose at that ( this is getting worse ),ask him if he is enjoying the Championship league LOL.
Tony, I must admit Champions League is a bit of a swear word in our house at the moment.
Thought it might be kiki, but they do deserve to be in it they are crap.
Cheers, tony, I'll pass the message on. Then I'll hide for the next few hours.
bad slang in any accent can get on my nerves a wee bit, but don't have any accents that i hate. I have a very gerenric Scottish accent. I'm originally from Edinburgh but don't have (and never have had) an Edinburgh accent for some reason. I've had many guesses at to which part of Scotland I come from but they vary.
