what are your forms of escapism?

Hi China (friend).....My husband Ron does most of the posting into AB; but I do try to keep tabs on him.

I also enjoy reading and, as a further form of escapism, I enjoy visiting my female friends. Quite happy to leave 'Niblo' alone in the house, because he is a bit of a 'stick in the mud'.

I come here to AB and try to answer crossword questions. When I want to beat myself up I cross swords with the atheists in the religious section.

Being busy at the lifeboat house is good. Too old now to be allowed to actually rescue anybody. Have a magic pair of walking boots which never fail to bring contentment, aided by a dog and a walkman that knows only classical music.

My friend writes movie scripts for fun.. I think it's a bit odd but they are good :)

No. But stout walking boots, a dog, and an i-pod with The Magic Flute playing , are all the ingredients necessary for a good day out.

Once a week, meeting up with a bunch of bohemian musicians (mostly French) in a nearby village and having an international, multi genre jam session. Not really escapism though, as I'm not trying to escape from anything.

last time I was bored and very fed up, I went shopping and didnt want to rush home. I walked past the local Magistrates Court , then walked back, and found myself listening to court cases! Oh boy I really enjoyed that and will do it again when boredom hits me lol
