Going to Italy next month and looking forthe cheapest hotel stays I can find. Lodging for 2 preferably with a private room and bathroom. Going to be in Venice, Florence, Cinque Terra, Rome, Sorrento and Capri. Any info on places you've stayed really cheap would help.. thank you!

Probably not the cheapest, but I can recommend
http://www.locandaorsaria.com/ in Venice (very handy for the railway station, and does the most wonderful hot chocolate with breakfast in the morning)
and
http://www.hotelastoriagarden.it/ in Rome. Again, very handy for the railway station.
Ciao!
I stayed in the porta faenza in florence, travelled to venice by train for the day. Sorrento is beautiful went there on a day trip saw island of capri in the distance. Enjoy :)
We stayed at Orto De Medici in Florence and can highly reccomend it.
Not sure about another location, but when in Rome I spend entire week by rent a holiday apartment at Travi fountain from this site

It won't be the cheapest but meet your qualification about lodging with private room and bathroom, and might be a cheaper option rather than stay in hotel rooms for 2 people.
