I've got a book upstairs by an author I enjoy thjat I've yet to read. I saw the film of the book was on last night so I recorded it.

Should I read the book first then watch the film or the other way round?

Book, definitely, then you can imagine it for yourself. If you watch the film first, you will know what's going to happen when you are reading - and scriptwriters do sometimes take licence with the original story from the book.
if I watched the film, I wouldn't bother with the book because I'm a lazy cow!

read the book, it'll be better than the film anyway. what is it?
Same for me. I prefer to read the book first as the film makers always change things.
I like to read the book (after all that's the version that the Author has imagined in the first place) before I see how the film studio have (usually) mangled it to fit a certain running time, or for a particular audience.

It's Along Came A Spider by James Patterson.
I watched it last night.. it's a good film, but read the book first :o)

I think Kiss The Girls is on next week.. not quite the sequel, but kind of!

I watched it last night. If I had the book I would definitely read it first...

Thanks guys. Book it is then.
i would read the book films edit and cut the story.
The author is the only one who paints the picture word for word .
I'd watch the film first, as I've always found if I've read the book first , as I watch the film I get annoyed at all the parts they miss out or change, I know they change it but sometimes its a huge difference.
Read "The Day Of The Jackal" and could,nt wait to see the film,to see how
the story had been put across.
Very good really.
They do this with tv series too. The Dexter books are different altogether from the tv series. So different that I have stopped watching the series and now just read the books.
