St. Lillian was a laywoman in 9th century Spain in an area controlled by the Moors. She initially lived as a closet Christian, not displaying enough of her faith to risk the attention of her Muslim neighbors. However, stories of the persecution of active Christians shamed her into openly living her faith.

St. Lillian was martyred with her husband, St. Felix, and other saints.

Her feast day is 27 July.

She is patron saint of "people called Lillian" (wow, what a surprise!).

She is also known as St Liliosa.

She lived in Cordoba, and died in 852.

She is said to have been martyred with Saint George (among others).
