we live in south woodham ferrers and are thinking of moving to colchester (bloke is going to run a shop there) and would like to know which areas are the nice places to live, and where to avoid!

Try www.upmystreet.co.uk this will give u general info on Colchester. Crime, school info and how the council is doing. Try looking at estate agents in the area (on the web) to give u an idea of areas where house prices are high. Basically do a search on Colchester and see what comes up, there is shed load of information out there.
