Is it true that the German city of Wolfsburg, home of the Volkswagen Golf, recently changed it's name in homage the cult car?

Wolfsburg changed its name to Golfsburg for six weeks in the late summer of 2003 as part of a huge national and international advertising campaign to promote the new Golf A5, which is the fifth generation of the best-selling car of all time. The campaign was pretty successful, the Golf is still one of the most popular cars in Europe. By the way, VW named several of their cars after winds (e.g. Passat, Scirocco, Vento) but I think the Golf was named after the game.
