Strong women

Me and my friend were discussing eachother and both think we come across as very strong independent women, who know there own minds and speak there mind when necessary....we was laughing about it saying how we must come across terrible at times...are most women out there like this, cos we couldnt stand being the old mother hen type and there seems to be a lot of them! and what do men think of strong minded women out of curiosity?

I'm the same (I think!), and it's hard not to seem unapprocheable sometimes. My main problem is sarcasm....
I tend to put my foot in it too, which doesn't help! lol
Of course, it'd help too if I was a 5'6" size 10 little nymph.....:O(

Well TBH -my husband like me being a strong woman -he woudldnt survive in this world if it werent for me -total wash out.He admits it himself.I know he has been a ******* to me in the past but the very fact that i dont take it makes him want me more.
I dont know if I want him more tho -cant stand a doormat but i'll suck it and see -im not being flippant BTW.

One place he does like it is -ooooooo ive been zapped lol !!!

I think most women are strong, you dont have to be opiniated to be a strong woman, not sure how you define "old mother hen types"? to my mind most women are strong, whether they are quiet or loud.

cazzz1975, by old mother hen types, I mean, the type that stand around in the school playground talking about "Bob" mowing the lawn over weekend, and the gentle types that just do whatever they are told!

maybe these women are not interested in being strong? maybe these women are strong in a different way? speaking your mind does not necessarily make you a strong person.

I'm the strong independent type and I wish I wasn't. My x was pretty useless, I fit a new bathroom suit and tiled while he took the kids to the park, I did everything, he never cooked, or cleaned or did any DIY, I even fit 2 carpets while he got out of the way. Needless to say he had to go and life got much easier for me, even though I became a single working parent with 2 young kids. That was 10yrs ago, I remain independant and self sufficient but see my (depandant/needy) friends have everything given to them on a plate, I use to think this was pathetic but maybe I was wrong and they have it right, they don't know how to change a lightbulb, but they don't need to know if there's always someone around to do it for them.

boogieboogie, can understand completely where your coming from! Sometimes us women want to be looked after, but its difficult to drop the strong character when your so used to doing it! bless you x
