A girl I knew died late Monday night. She was 16 years old and died of cancer.
She was extremely pretty and such a lovely person. She got on with mostly everyone and always seemed to be in high spirits.
I'm finding it hard dealing with the fact that she was so young, it scares me that someone the same age as me has just died of cancer. I know cancer can occur at any age but it's still hard to comprehend.
The pain it causes is phenomenal, her parents, her little sister and all her friends and school mates.
Basically what I wanted to say is that if you are going to give to any charities this year please, please seriously consider cancer research.
Obviously no one should die of cancer, and no group of people are more important than others but please if you could help try and stop lives being lost to the most devastating illness (I believe).

Rest in Peace E.J x

Babybombo, so sorry that you had this awful news this week - I really feel for the friends and family of this poor girl, i just hope she wasn't in too much pain. Cancer is awful at any age, but seems particularly unfair when the victim is so young.

The day before my 13th Birthday my friend, who was 14, died from leukhaemia so I know what it feels like to lose someone at that age (I know you're older than I was, but you get my drift). Just wanted to let you know that, as cliche as it sounds, time is a great healer and although I still think about my friend now (what he would have looked like, the cheeky things he would say, what job he would be doing, whether he'd have children or not, etc) I feel lucky to have known him when I did, as opposed to have not having not him atall and can now talk about what a sh*t he could be as well as all the good things he was (sometimes people can be painted as saints when they have died don't you think? This boy was a devil sometimes, a royal pain in the bum)

In answer to your question though, I do give to charities; I work part time on a voluntary basis for a charity that builds, rennovates and funds teaching at schools in The Gambia, I also donate monthly to NSPCC, RSPCA and Cancer Research, plus any fundraising activities I undertake myself (or my dad, who runs marathons) are always for cancer research.

Thinking of you hun xx
so sorry to hear your sad news cant say anything that will help you at this time as we all have to grieve in our own way but just to let you know lots of us on here know how you feel . if you want to rant and rave or just talk about her please do as we are all here for you .love Ruthxxx
Hey babybombo. Sorry to hear that. You take care of yourself, and don't forget your ABers are always here if you need to talk... x

Hi everyone, thanks for all your well wishes.

I'm glad to hear that some of you already donate to charities, especially cancer research.

Thanks again for your replies.
