I have several times come across JW children in school. They have to be removed from a lot of communal actvities in school which celebrate Christian festivals or birthdays. Some schools dont have a Christmas tree or other Christmas trappings that would normally be the case.I would like to find out - but not be preached at-about JW beliefs and what exactly they expect their children to learn about society and how it hangs together.Or is it the point that they are not part of society? So far Ive not had a JW child in my class but I would like to be prepared just in case.

A bit blinkered, TW - and the selected few is 144,000. There is plenty of info on the web, banana - both pro and anti JW - it's a very contentious religion as you will find out when you read up on it

Follow some home then visit them for a chat (being sure to pick a most inconvenient time).
Just stay in on a Sunday or anytime upto about 9pm during the week and sooner or later this cult will find you (and they are as much as a cult, albeit significantly bigger, as the Davidians). Any quasi religious cult that refuses to allow their children life saving blood transfusions should not be trusted - child abuse of breathtaknig proportions.
recent news - blood donor found to have CJD 10 years after giving blood...... They do have a point scuba. Although not a JW myself, i worry about ever needing a blood transfusion - aids, hepatitis, CJD etc etc etc it's a bit russian roulette
This was a small problem a few years ago but all blood is now screened - but even despite this, the benefits far outweigh any possible negatives. The negatives are negligible at best.
they don't refuse treatment - only blood transfusions. There are types of bloodless transfusion treatments available. Anyway don't wish to get embroiled in a massive JW debate so can we agree to differ?
