Thanks in a pickle, I have just emailed them.
you need to contact the association of Friends of the Waterloo Committee, this was set up in 1973 by His Grace The Duke of Wellington and the committee set out to preserve and research all aspects of the battle and to encourage a more accurate historical record of the events of 15th june 1815. There is an index of all men of the British Army and the King's German legion and there is a museum I believe in Broardstairs in kent.

Go to the Public Records Office in Kew if you can. Then, if you know your ancestor's regiment you will be able to see and handle his Attestation Paper, which is what he completed when he first joined up and also contains a full physical description of him at that time, as well as his home address, occupation, and the occupations of his parents. The paper will also contain details of his service, including where and when he served, his decorations and crimes and punishments, if any - and most soldiers had quite a list of those. I have read quite a few of these documents and they make fascinating reading. Oh, and you can have them photocopied.
If you can't get to Kew you can hire a genealogist to do the research for you - they are quite reasonable.
Digger, my information any help ?!!!

Hate to think I was wasting my time.
