I am trying to plan a weekend/2 day break in London for me and my kids age f/9 m/15 [was going to go to Euro Disney, but can't afford it!]... Then I though Hey...I live 30 mins away from London on the underground...1st saving...no Eurostar! Now I need to find a good place to stay, it will only be for one night as we can travel home early/late.... if that makes sense! I want somehere nice, not too expensive, but I still want it to be a treat for them. Any ideas? TIA

How about a Holiday Inn Express?

There are a fair number of these in London and rooms are fairly cheap. They also do family room where kids can sleep in same room as you, making it very cost effective.

Here is the web site
