Banksy...who is he

is there a picture of Banksy anywhere. Who is he and what is his name??. Should he not be in the new years honours list??. Lets start a campaign to get him/her a few gongs

That's the genius of Banksy. The few photos of him there are he is always heavily disguised. And he's far too anti-estabishment to accept any official reward. Besides, many people regard his art as graffiti, so the odds of him even getting considered is slim.

His work is amazing, however,a nd he has had exhibitions, although some of his best work is on the streets of Brighton, London, Liverpool and many other cities around the country, and even the world (he did the Palestinian Wall recently).

Poor guy only has one eye as well, it happened while he was playing for Stoke in the mid seventies. He may have a obe already but keep up the good work

new years honours list? you must be deranged... or you don't get out enough/read enough!! Some of what Bansky has done over the years has been interesting, but he's no genius!

He is beleived to be 'Mark Banks', originally from Sheffeild. That is - the police think thats who it is, and they need to catch him in the act. There was a rumour going round that he is a gallery owner in London, which is where he gets his money from.

A friend of mine knows him and his wife, although she isnt very forthcoming about details - in a way I think its quite nice, and knowing who Banksy is would definately take away the mystery of the man for me, so I didnt press her further.

There is loads of his stuff on You Tube, if you search for "Banksy in LA" you can see loads of his artwork, including the recently painted elephant.

Fopp is currently selling a really good book of his work for �15. It's really thought provaking.

I think he is incredible but like Monkeychoo says I don't want to put a face to the name.

He is showing his stuff off in London at the moment, if you can bare the xmas shoppers this is a must!!
