My aunt would like to have a baby but cannot afford to go to a fertility clinic and does not want a friend etc to donate sperm as she does not want anyone to have any influence over her child. Is there some way she can buy sperm from a sperm donor clinic and inseminate herself without going to a clinic. No silly answers please. FYI she is 43 and therefore does not want to wait for Mr Right any longer.

Why doesn't she want to go to the clinic?
And i know this is probably going to really naff you off, but I totally disagree with having children this way, particular as your aunt doesnt "want anyone else to have any influence over her child"............Doesn't a child deserve 2 parents??? Extremely selfish denying a child a father purely because you don't want a 2nd party involved.

no money
Oh Jesus...no money????????

So providing she can get pregnant, how on earth does she expect to support a child with no money?

boo. My aunt has waited until now hoping to meet someone who she loved to have a child with. however this has not happened and at 43 she feels she cannot wait any longer, she doesn't want someone who she does not know and love enough to spend her life with to have an influence on wether on not she takes her kid to another country to live or even on holiday, or a hundred an one different things that they may have a say in.

boo, I don't know how ell off you are, but no money for an artificial insemination at 2500 a pop when it may not work is not the same as not having enough to live day to day etc on. Try to put yourself in the position of someone who has always wanted children but has never me the right person and stop being so obnoxious. If you do not have any real knowledge of the question please don't bother to answer again.
Sorry, perhaps I was a bit harsh re the money situation. However i still stand by the deliberately denying the child a parent statement I've already made.

However like you said, this isn't answering your question, have a good night :-)
if you cant face people telling you home truths then posting on a public message board isnt the best thing to do.

To be honest the only way you can aquire sperm from a clinic is if you have the treatment there, they wont just sell the sperm. The only real route is a one night stand with a stranger which i wouldnt want to do to get pregnant

boobesque. don't mind getting the truth, however i asked for advise for my aunt who is not here to defend herself. If she was that sort of person she could well have slept with a stranger but she isn't. She is a lovely lady who just wants a child of her own without a partner. I have read many post on here about people how have separated and are having problems with how to bring up the child and think that my aunt bypassing this problem in not something she should be made to feel bad about.
i have been a single parent so not saying anything bad about that. But i dont think any clinic does just the sperm thing. Its too tightly controlled, maybe going abroad would be more affordable, although they arent quite as controlled as in this country

Thanks for your advice.
She might try
www.mannotincluded.com

I have no idea of how good a service this is ( if you'll excuse the pun) but it's a DIY insemination site so she might find what she's after there. Good luck to her.
