The bridge at Whitby is supposed to be the "only one of its kind". It has two sections which swing.

I find it hard to believe that there's no other bridge with two swinging sections - what's the real difference in this bridge?

Are there any bridge enthusiasts here!?

Don't really know, but could it be because they swing horizontally and independently. Rather than up and together.
Have seen it open on numerous occasions.
I'm a bit of a bridge nut and I certainly can't think of another bridge that has 2 swinging sections off the top of my head, but I'll give it some thought.
