Bbc Quiz : Week 12

Good evening, all!

I tried the grown-ups' quiz at around 2am this morning when, obviously, I was rather tired.  That's therefore my somewhat poor excuse for my pathetic score of just TWO out of seven - but I'm sticking to it all the same!

I couldn't do the kids' quiz at that time, as it doesn't go online until around breakfast-time on a Friday.  So I did it a short while ago, resulting in me achieving a 'middling' THREE out of five on it:

The weather over this side of the country has been good too and I've been getting out and about with my amateur radio activity.

Sadly, there's still been no sign of my darling Tablo.  I doubt that I'll ever see her again but I still keep hoping.

Hi Buen et al --- feeling v.pleased with 4/7 + 4/5.

Hope you and  everyone are more comfortable and awake than I and Mr.J2 after our week horribilis!

I had no pain to speak of after hip replacement in France (they promise that it is unnecessary and counterproductive so they'll keep it at bay) - now I am suffering more than a just a bit and haven't slept for more than a total of 7 hrs since Tues.!  He is missing half an ear, has a hole in the top of his head and stitches round his  neck to make Dr. Frankenstein envious.

HOWEVER - a gleam of  light in 4/7 and 4/5!!!!! Pleased as Punch!  We'll improve.  😀

Been dipping in and out of AB all week hoping to read some good news about Tablo coming home. Glad you are staying positive at the moment. I will join you by wishing for a good outcome and home she will return soon. 

Had a pleasant week as the weather has been improving and we have seen more sunshine. It has spurred me to start sprucing up the garden and to start some planting to give it more colour. Looking forward to sitting out there with a glass of wine when it gets a bit warmer!

Yes, it's been nice to get out in some decent weather at last.  I'm defintely not a gardener.  (I struggle to tell a petunia from a potato!).  However a friend and I visited Langham Walled Garden last Friday and, even though it's only March, it was a delight:

Afterwards we went on to a Thai restaurant in Diss which only opens on Friday & Saturday lunchtimes if they've got bookings.  (They open Wednesday to Saturday evenings without the need to book). We were the only people who'd booked for Friday lunchtime, so they opened up the restaurant just for us!  (The food was lovely!)

Those gardens are a delight Chris. They remind me of Elsham Hall Gardens close to me. 

I love dining in a restaurant when we are the only ones. I like to pretend it is because we have won the lottery and paid to have tge restaurant to ourselves!

I've just taken a look at Elsham Hall and it looks to be impressive.

The Thai restaurant we went to is almost a secret.  It doesn't have a web page, it doesn't have a Facebook page and it doesn't accept cards.  When we got there, at 12.50pm for a 1.00pm booking, the door was locked and it took a phone call to get the lady to promise to be there in just a few minutes.  However the food was lovely and the service was impeccable!
