The World Trade Centre was built on a 16 acre site. The area of New York City is about 360 square miles. So according to my reckoning that is 0.007 per cent.
If each floor had been taken down and laid side by side it would cover approx 220 square acres ( 220 floors x 1 acre of availible space to rent per floor) from the above answer if the size of new york is square miles is correct that converted to acres = 230400 square acres! So work that one out for yourself
