I wasn't overly impressed with it I typed in my postcode and the the picture of the world turned around until it was over Britain and then zoomed in until it showed my town and then my street but by then it is just a complete blur and you cant pick anything out that you recognise.

It works much better if you are looking at the U.S.A. (lot clearer) It will keep you entertained for an hour or two.

i thought it was pretty darn impressive! but i guess it depends which part of the world/country you are looking for - i searched for my postcode and i got a really good level of detail - you can even recognise the cars in my street!

presumably over time more and more of the world will be viewable in a higher resolution.

however, i couldn't find any specific use for it apart from making go "ooh! that's impressive!"

I can actually pin point my house so i feel like i'm one of the lucky ones. Very few areas in the UK are covered

I had hours of fun scanning area 51 and the like there's some spooky things out there also check out the community forum for other things of interest

Google earth is just so cool. It is just FAB! I love it, the kids love it, we all love it.

Our house in UK is on it, but the pic was taken before my neighbours house was built so there are just fields round and round, it's very odd! I love the grand canyon and looking at Volcanoes, also the Pyramids are great and well, all the seven wonders actually. Also, Baghdad's a little bit scary. It is fun going round and round finding wierd stuff like black government helicoptors....that happened to be in the way.

I think it is impressive a blinding piece of database and programming. It is one of the wonders of the internet IMO. I particularly like it when you change the view and zoom in and see everything from worm's eye view instead of bird's eye. Now that is Cine 2000 stuff!

I found that it took a lot of memory usage and really slowed down my computer. Fine for about 5 minutes.
