Second Hand Bikes (London)

Can anyone recommend where I can buy a cheap but reliable second hand bike in London (the more central the better). It's just for a 30 min commute to work so doesn't have to be too flash. Also, can people recommend good makes of bike I should look out for? Thanks!

I don't know if you're able to order via the net rather than walk into a shop but my boyfriend and I bought two very basic mountain bikes (new) from a company called Sterling House Bikes who sell via ebay but also have their own website. We paid �30 for the one and �35 (via auction) for the other. P&P was �15 per bike. As I said, basic but they were good quality.

The only downside is that you do have to put the front wheel on yourself (involves seting up the front brakes) but they provide you with Ikea-esque tools to do so. Made for a very amusing afternoon!

Obviously we've only used them twice since we got them, but it's the thought that counts!!
