Spanish naming customs ( Catalonia / Barcelona area).

This couple live and work in UK.
An Englishman George MASTERS married a Spanish girl Silvia Morro SANTIAGO and she then followed Spanish custom by calling herself Silvia Masters Santiago

Their son is known as Michael Masters Morro. Does that add up? I expected his last name to be Masters.
