It's a sort of personality test that, in this context, can help determine your suitability for the role. 

Google, or most job sites will give you more information. 

PS - May have been a typo (goodness knows I typo all the time!) but it's psychometric, not physcometric. 
it is a test to see if you can read properly, spot different shapes etc, I had to do one when I started on the railway, bleeding nightmare, 4 hours long!!!!
In other words,  a div test

Well, a test to see if you're the right div for that particular div test... if you want to put it like that. 

They're well respected and an accepted part of many recruitment processes now actually.  Not just for working on the railways. 

They have stopped using it on the railways now,instead they were going to do a small tools test, ie  spanners,nuts and bolts etc.  you`d be surprised how many men in the job have two left hands!!!!
