Roehampton is between Barnes, Putney and East Sheen all have railway stations except East Sheen that is served by North Sheen and Mortlake. Roehampton lies off the A205 - Upper Richmond Road and the A306 - Roehampton Lane. There is a golf club and a hospital there. I couldn't tell you much more !!

Hi Andy,

If you go to this Link (a page from the "Living in London" Site) it will tell you all about Roehampton.

Well Andy, there is nothing much in Roehampton. The only good thing is that you can have a nice walk down Clarence Lane to Richmond Park. Queen Mary's Hospital used to be very good hospital, so I suppose that is the reason why it was closed down (not completely, though) few years back. All this nice chitchat is about surrounding areas (East Sheen, Putney, Barnes etc.) and not about Roehampton, so I'll leave Roehampton to your imagination.

There is a huge Asda and that's about it!
Not to be morbid, but: When my friend, who lives in Richmond, took me on a drive around Richmond Park and then towards Hampton Court, we passed the spot where Marc Bolan died, was this not (unfortunately) Roehampton?
It's Queens Road.Barnes Common.
He lived in Upper Richmond Road.
Some bits are very smart and expensive and there are some nice Victorian cottages. There is also a council estate and some huge blocks of flats near to Richmond Park gates. Why these were allowed to be built is beyond belief, really. Your transport, Andy, would be the bus, but there are stations within a short bus ride, Barnes being the nearest.
