I've kept the cats in already as if the celebrations start and they're still out they may do a runner from fright.

Possibly... Eric will come running in at a cracking pace if they do... although he's not really likely to out, he doesn't mind the rain but wind gives him the heebee jeebies...
The dog just ignores them (not cats he tries to kill those)
Yes, I can hear the fireworks from Edinburgh Castle and the neighbours usually put on a display of their own. I only have a goldfish so it's unlikely he will be upset by them!
yes..I can seethe castle from here...Edinburgh..sound follows..and the neighbours are like braveheart...
You're not taking him out then vodka?
We usually have someone letting fireworks off for New Year, I expect we'll be in bed.
Normally I would but the weather here is appalling.
They have started here already! Only a few so far though.

Chinese lanterns seemed to be the big thing recently, looks like we're being invaded! They are only supposed to be let off in a certain window though with being so close to Manchester Airport.

Mish is in and out at the moment but the window is open as usual for her to come in whenever she wants, if there are some louder closer ones she will be in sharpish.
Spoke too soon, queue loud bangs and cat!
jenna chineselanterns have caused huge problems here too with airport and hillside rescue
I'll bet. A friend of mine who is a vet says they are very dangerous to cows as ones which land in fields where they are tend to get eaten and it can cause a lot of damage, sometimes kill them :(

They don't seem to be quite as popular now as they were though.
