Saint Francis of Assisi.
Corby - you are always in first!!! Yes def St Francis of Assisi,
Cor - I guessed right then!!!  (Mind you I was guessing the bleeding obvious!) I'll DEFINITELY assume that TCL and netibiza are perfectly correct.  :-)

Since I've obviously unearthed some Saint Appreciaters here on AB, next question:

Who's San Ildefonso? What's he famous for? The church and square near to my flat (in Spain) are named after him. It's a very nice square so I hope he's an especially good saint.

Ildefonso: 7th century archbishop and patron saint of Toledo (Spain, not Ohio). Tiny biography here
I wonder what his 3 miracles were?  Unless that was something Eddie Izzard just made up for the purpose of a sketch!  (I believed him when he said you had to perform 3 miracles to become a Saint)
Apparently Eddie's a bit demanding - it's only two!  In case people are interested in this: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4594267.stm as it's about the person who may well soon be the newest saint!
