I always have to have the toilet roll going over as opposed to under.  Does anyone else have this (or any other) strange obsession?

A little theory about the way you do your loo roll, when you have it over you actually use less toilet paper as when it is under because of the position of the roll when you pull it, you always end up with at least one or two extra sheets.  So really your obsession is 1) Saving you money (albeit very little) 2) Helping out with the enviroment
Always over the top, but I find that I have to rearrange it sometimes when others have loaded it back to front.
Whichever way the wife puts it on!!
Under, under, under - it drives the old man mad!!!!
Yes, OVER. And I agree, landie, it drives me nuts when others do it WRONG(ly?).

Always put the toilet roll over the top.

I also wash the dishes in a certain order - mugs & glasses, plates & bowls, saucepans, cutlery last.

always under! It looks neater then having the end bit just hanging. It drives me crazy when other people put it over. Odd.
i don't mind which way it goes up but have noticed it gets changed if i do it the 'wrong' way!
I prefer it over, but do agree that it looks better when it's under. Oh the decisions I have to make when I'm replacing it!!!
I like it under,if its over it always seems to break!!( :)
i have to have it over and i have to tear it perfectly. i'm the same with my parer towels. if it rips off uneven, i have to go to the next sheet!  as with the dishes i have a dishwasher.

I have to have it over and I personally think it looks neater if it's over, too. If it's under, it just looks backwards, untidy and hard work (although in reality, it is none of these!)

With regards to my own strange obsessions... If my shoes have to be on the floor, they must to be at right-angles to the wall. My towel, when on a towel-rail, must be parallel to the floor. CDs and books must be in height order and alphabetically-arranged by author/artist. Anything like computer speakers, photo frames etc. must be at symmetrical angles on the desk/shelf. Posters and pictures obviously MUST be correctly flush. When following a recipe from a book, the exact amounts have to be used - including the old trick you learn in science of measuring liquids from only the bottom of the meniscus.

amarillis (can you show me the way there, by the way?) - I'm the opposite, I put the cutlery in sink first (well, after filling the big bowls/saucepans so they can soak) and actually clean it last.

VINNY100_2 - I find that the ability of toilet roll to break is conducive to precision wiping and not clogging up the toilet.

Do you reckon the Queen has a footman to clean hers?

I hope the Queen has a footman to clean hers but the person is probably known as the LavatoryLady, or LL for short, (sexist, i know).

Glad to hear you Up A Pickle, it's been a while or have I missed you latest posts? It's no good, I miss everything of any importance.

I remember Ann Landers, the famous American agony aunt (now dead), once said that no other topic she wrote about brought as much comment as this one.
ABers are showing that photographs are possible more user-friendly! Over or under!
I have my loo roll going 'over.' My bathroom walls are pale coloured and my logic is that 'over' keeps the kid's sticky fingers and grubby hands as far away from the wall as possible.
