Does anyone else feel the urge to throw their television out of their window and rip all the hair off their own head when listening to Michael Winner saying "calm down dear" in a patronising voice on those stupid Esure ad's!! Especially the more recent ones where he's dressed as a woman giving cheese to a computer mouse aaaahhhhh!!!!!!

Yes, yes, YES!!! I most certainly agree with you... so annoying, I can't stand it and everytime it comes on I just have to run to the remote and turn it over.  How can they possibly think these are good commercials and that people enjoy watching them?  One thing is for sure that I won't be going with Esure just for the fact that the advert drives me up the wall!!!

I agree Greg, it is the worst advert I have ever seen in my life, it's pathetic. Michael Winner is a terrible actor. "What a clever little mouse, I gave it some cheese", "Calm down dear, it's not a real mouse!!!".."Oh, I think he's asleep". Well Michael im sure that nobody is stupid enough to think that a computer mouse eats cheese and sleeps!!
Just proves what type of customers Esure are trying to attract ;@p
i hate those ads so much but more distressing than that i find myself laughing when they come on. Its like i'm possessed, i can't help it, especially at the end when he makes that stupid face. i need help !

Absolutely agree. Even before the adverts I had an aversion to Michael Winner. Now I feel my jaw clench and teeth start to grind the second that he appears on the screen.

I'm also in agreement with butter1 that as far as I'nm concerned as a consumer the ads have been totally counterproductive. When getting quotes for car insurance I wouldn't contact esure now...

Totally agree.

Why is it taht rubbish ads like this are ok to be aired, but funny ones like the KFC ad that's been banned get taken off?!

Ok, so eating with your mouth full is quite offensive to some people, but Esure thinking that this ad is good is offensive to me! Especially as I work for Legal and General!

I think it is downgrading and patronising to all viewers.. Women are not all completly stupid and look like like blokes ( Michael Winner) . It make me cringe everytime it comes on the t.v. I think to myself....how do these advert get approval from a large companies like Esure.
I agree with Greg, that they must be trying to get stupid customers only.
I most certainly will not be contacting Esure for car insurance quotes.
I happen to love the cheese ones - he makes such a good woman - "a net and a mouse"  love it!!!
Yep - big time!
Erm, are you feeling quite the ticket, Netti? Not been in that Mediterranean sun too long, have you? :-) To think this man used to make his living telling other people how to act! Awful ads.

"he makes such a good woman"

Not even in my drunkest moments...
Totally agree - but saying that I am now trying to think of an advert I don't find annoying on some level.  I'm not a fan of that KFC ad where they stuff their faces, or most fast food ads actually
OOOOOh YESSSSS, OH sorry wrong commercial...... no seriously its teeth grinding stuff  that esure ad how much are they paying i wonder cos between us i reckon weve got it covered get rid of michael winner ESure is a housewifes nightmare...... AAAAAAAAAAah

Sorry folks - I still luv it - maybe I've been out of civilisation too long, (don't bite my head off I reserve my right to my opinions )- just sorry for my lack of taste!!!

:-)

yes it ****** me and everyone i know off, but somebody pointed out to me a wee while ago that this is an advertising technique. it sticks in your mind and not matter how irritating you find it, you will always remember the name esure. but, if i had my way, all evidence of these adverts would be burned in a huge bonfire along with anything to do with jamster and crazy frogs. mwaha
