A couple of years ago the surviving Fairports got together at the Barbican to play songs exclusively from the first five albums. They woman who sang Sandy's parts was so good that, eyes closed, it was her. When they got to "Who Knows Where the Time Goes", Richard Thompson was visibly in pieces. It was one of the most emotional gigs I've ever seen except, perhaps, for the Genesis reunion with Peter Gabriel in 1982...
Scotman, I was at the Pentangle original line-up reunion at The Royal Festival Hall only a few months ago. Not long afterwards, Bert Jansch was dead...
