Will probably get shot to pieces for this, and 'tis only my opinion, but..........................................grown men should NOT wear replica football shirts. Ever. Fine for children, but am I wrong in thinking that grown men in replica shorts look just ridiculous?

Yep, OK, going to a game is OK - although as a Charlton season ticket holder (yes, there are some of us, despite the very very boring football we play nowadays), I've never done it.

My reason for the question was that in Sainsbury's yesterday there was a 50 something loud fat bloke in three quarter length trousers, pristine white traniers and a Chelsea top - he looked a total pillock.

Never mind the replica shirts, the blokes wearing the real ones look ridiculous.Especially those eleven blokes who were wearing West Ham shirts on Saturday.

;o)

Wholeheartedly agree!
Yep, going to the match is okay but most definately a no-no in Tesco etc, mind you there is something a whole lot worse WOMEN in football shirts, whats that all about then!!!
Brits abroad........
I rarely wear mine except to watch the game (or to play) but I don't see any problem with people wearing them in public.
A lot of folk do look stupid wearing them but where do we stop? Fat birds shouldn't wear tight fitting clothes? Old people shouldn't wear jeans? Pretty girls should only wear skirts and low cut tops? (OK, that last one was a bit of poetic license).

Lots of people everywhere make fashion fax pas (sp?) but each to their own. Some grown ups love shoing their allegiance to their beloved team by wearing their colours and even if they look stupid then I have no problem with it all. There are more important things in life.

You should all just be as great and tolerant as me. Wars never start, cure world disease and hunger, unlock the mysteries of the universe...
I only wear my 1960's style shirt when I go to the match. ( I refuse to keep shelling out for more and more expensive shirts every year and anyway mine's a classic), but, Horror of horrors I'm female.

Don't you also find it amazing that the only shirts  abd 'bottoms' that Guys-bordering-on-obese (and women, for that) can wear that are big enough are "sports" wear.
