Yes, I've emailed a few beejay, just waiting to hear back now! Fingers crossed!!!

Thanks pericat. What camera do you have for photographing jewellery? Is it any jewellery or specific items? If you want photos of any jewellery I can take some photos for you and upload them on flickr?

Thanks bibblebub!
Thanks caj - my hubby has a good panasonic luminex- I make jewellery and we are finding it very hard to get the colours right -

Ok, here's what I would do:

Get a white piece of card or paper and place your jewellery on it. Set up camp either in front of a window for natural light or position two lights either side of the jewellery. If the camera has auto focus use it as this will work out the correct exposure etc.If you have a tripod use that too as you will get a sharper picture. Experimenting is the best way to learn what is best. Try placing the jewellery on a reflective surface and see how those photos work.

You might find this light studio handy and its reasonably priced http://www.amazon.co....qid=1271316000&sr=8-8

Once you've taken the photos, download picasa from google, its free and you can play about with the lighting and saturation which will bring up colours. Try not to change the photos too much though as it will make the photo pixelly.

Hope this helps!
I have a light studio caj but still not happy - will take your tips and start experimenting again - I have just been using my phone photos to put pics on my FB fanpage but I really have to do it properly - will try again and post a photo at some stage to see what you think - :-)

I'm on fb, what is your page and I'll have a nosy and see if I can advise you from what I see on there?
It's perriwinkle design - do you have anybody from here on FB
Question Author
I'll search it now. Nope, I don't have any one on here on fb

I love your crystal and lampwork beads collection. I think the problem is not enough light and distracting backgrounds. You need a plain background and make sure the photos are in focus (I know you said they were taken with you phone)

I quickly snapped a few jewellery photos there, have a quick look and see the difference by having a plain background and plenty of light

By the way I didn't realise you lived down south, I live up north :)
