Haven't most poi spinners graduated to spile troshing these days? Are you in the UK?
It's only known as poi spinning in the Dudley area, pie-spinning is no longer popular in the rest of the UK.
i'm a poi spinner too! i've posted a link of a great fire spinner, i only hope to be half as good as him!!! do you spin fire or just normal poi?

Hi there,

Poi (meaning "ball") is a Maori traditional method of dancing. It is performed by New Zealand Maori women, but some believe it actually originated in Japan and was taught to wealthy Japanese children.

These days it has become more of a performance art, often seen at Festivals and juggling conventions. There are a wide variety of poi spinning toys made from UV rip stop nylon, sock poi, flag poi (as shown in the video) and LED glow poi.
