when i was young i remember making flowers with my nan. we would twist thin wire to make a loop and dip this loop into some kind of solution. It was coloured and a bit like treacle in consistency. The stuff would cover the loop, a bit like when you put the bubble wand into the mixture. this stuff would then harden a bit and you can use the loops for petals.
does anyone have any idea about what i am going on about and know if you can still get this stuff??

I remember doing that sort of thing at school. If i remember rightly the 'petals' looked a bit like stained glass windows.

Sorry don't know exactly what it was or where you could get it - but i'd be interested to hear myself!!

yes, cameo, that's exactly what they were like. I don't even have a vague idea for a name to google!
I thought it was some kind of wax.
you could try scumble glaze...?
It was some kind of liquid plastic that dried on contact with air it was sold in a kit form
it was called Fantasy Film - I've still got some sitting in the loft, don't think it will be any good now, but you never know
