I started model trains in the 1970s but because of lack of space etc I gave up. Now I am retired I have started looking into it again and find the field has changed completely. Now the engines are controlled by digital means. I have read a good book on the subject but do not know where to go for practical help in converting my collectioin. I live in Wiltshire and my collection is all Fleischmann so I need to find out a practical means of converting my collection. Any ideas? Many thanks, Bramleyboy

Buenchico, Thank you. I hadn't even got this far. It looks so damn complicated! Fleischmann used to have an importer in Sussex back in the 70s and you could phone them and they'd help you, now it's all so remote. Anyway, thank you, I will persevere. Have you any experience of installing your own little chips into engines? Many thanks, Bramleyboy

Otherwise, see Google for something like 'dcc for dummies' where there are quite a few links on starting up a DCC layout.
