All I want are two pairs of flat boots knee length or just under, one in black and one in brown... It's like searching for the holy fecking grail! The only pair that were any good were £90 and really a bit of a rip off for what they were but by this point I was prepared to be slightly ripped off but noooo... Size six just too small on right foot and size seven too big and do you think they do half sizes?! Do they bullocks...

I'm aware that if these are my biggest problems I have in life then I'm probably doing ok but that does mean I can't get grumpy about it! AndI've no one here to whinge at about my horrendous boot shopping experience to so someone has to hear my woes... ;0)

i share your pain, can i find a decent pair of boots to walk to work in that aren't ugly as sin, no
Question Author
EXACTLY Fluffy!! I want a black pair for work and a brown pair for dossing in as my ruddy hip won't tolerate even the smallest heel at the moment... So many are utterly ugly, fur lined (it's not that bloody cold!) and/or forget them actually being made of leather.
I hate shopping at the best of times...so to have to look look look and then find out the only thing I 'quite' like doesn't fit me would be enough to make me smash up a bus shelter.
CD there are half sizes done in Nine West, not much under £125 but at this time of year I used to be putting sale out and there were reductions added all through january. I do miss selling shoes, lol
eBay's got loads of flat boots at the moment, but I guess you need to try them on....

I wasn't very impressed ummmm... normally I'd be doing this shoe shopping online but I have to try shoes on now so actually had to enter shops.... I don't think I've tutted or sworn this much in one afternoon for a long time.
Have you got a Jones Bootmaker nr you China? There aren't so many sizes left on line but they often have more in store...not cheap but very comfy & good quality

I checked 9 west dotty, they're all a bit too expensive at the moment. Plus some were pretty ugly.

ANd yeah boxy, have to make sure they're a perfect fit :-/
China, have you tried Clarks, I know it used to be so lod fashioned, but its not now. I have two pairs one black one brown for exactly the same reason as you. Have a google.

And in answer to your question YES you can get grumpy

i have now resorted to ugly as sin boots, that are at least leather, warm and keep me upright, then change into something less hideous when i get to work.
what about high heels
I don't care what they look like these days, as long as they are comfy.
Question Author
I've not heard of them Robina, I haven't seen one around though and I know most of the shops by heart...
Question Author
Absolutely no heels or buying online, everything has to be tried on at the moment unless I want to end up bent over in pain unfortunately.

I wasn't looking for attractive particularly boxy but loads of them seem to go up past your knee, and with wooly things poking out the top, I'm not going riding!
China, have a peek at www.kurtgeiger.com they have a mahoosive sale on. if you spend over £50 you can get £20 off with the code KGWELCOME10

I bought 2 pairs that I didn't need at all ;o)
sorry, just saw you wanted a shop! you can return them to a KG shop if they're no good.
I can understand your frustration CD. I live in my current and I've had them for over 2 years. I absolutely hate buying shoes as they always slip off so I can only wear boots even in summer as I can't wear my Teva's at work. I've got one foot slightly bigger than the other as do many people. One's a 3 1/2 and the other is a 4 and I always have trouble finding something I like. The only thing I can do is use insoles which help to a certain degree.

When I go back to work I'm going to have to wear shoes as part of the new uniform introduced just before I went on maternity leave. As I've just said I can't wear shoes as they always slip off and I get blisters on the backs of my heels. Why does it take ages for shoes to wear in and why do they always kill your feet in the process?!!!
I'd never paid them any attention either until my sister dragged me in, I thought they looked a bit expensive. I suppose they are but I can always find some that fit within a few minutes :o)
