At next years trafalgar parade, i shall be an instructor, and because I will only just have become one, I won't have a number 1 uniform so won't be able to do the parade, which is being hosted by my unit.

Should I offer to help cook for the people training for the guard (mum says the commitee are thinking of doing it in pairs, so everyone only have to do part of one meal) It'll be for roughly 50 people plus If I do the evening meal, I can stay and help the people in the guard get their uniforms perfect.

A good way of getting me in the good books with the commanding officer?

Errrrrr......ummmmmmm.........errrrrrrr......
..yes??
If you cook you will know the edibility of the food - go for it........no, not the CO !
If you ask your Dad nicely, I'm sure he will do the cooking.
Can I come Molly? It sounds like it's gonna be a great post-parade party!
nowt worse than dolly-marching - you're spared !
I would go for it -nothing to lose and a lot to gain.Plus you're interested in cooking-sorted !!
I think that's a great idea Molly.
Yes, you should do it, molly. Also be extremely leery concerning any drunken petty-officer who wants to take you to his cabin in order to debrief you

This'll be before the parade.

The guard stay somewhere in the host town/city usually the cadet unit or territorial army centre as they have to learn all the moves. And commitee members and occaissionally instructors cook for them. So lunch and tea on saturday then breakfast and lunch on the sunday need to be cooked for roughly 50 people. Then sunday afternoon someone has to cook for about 150, as the parade will be over and everyone who stayed over night plus the people not in the guard need to be fed.

I know it's a year away, but it's the AGM next week (which my mum is going to as she's a committee member) so it'll be mentioned as there's a lot of organising to do.
Get yourself a nice young midshipman, before the master at arms gets his dirty paws all over him.
Question Author
I don't know if there are any instructors of midshipman rate in the district.
