This should really be in shopping, but I am sure I will get more replies on here.

I need some new jeans and it's a nightmare trying to get a pair that fit well. Most ladies jeans are shaped and have lots of room for very curvy thighs and big bums. What I need is a pair t hat cater for my largish waist and fit really well over fairly slim hips and bum. I also need a long leg.

As a youngster I used to find that mens jeans fitted me really well, but I am a bit more curvy than I was back then. Have always had a waist that was bigger in proportion even when I was really skinny.

I prefer to shop on the net as well!

HELP.

And I need a pair that actually fit slimmish thighs and don't look like jodpurs on me!!
Mens jeans. Fit far better.
Question Author
That's what I thought BOO. I suppose I could order a pair from M&S and see how I go.
I used to wear men's levis all the time, but they are too expensive!
Difficult to buy online.

You have to take a pile of them into the fitting room and try them on.

Have you tried any with lycra in the fabric? They are a bit more forgiving if you aren't the same shape as the dressmaker's dummy.

Hi JJ. Yes, I always do buy them with Lycra. I actually got my last 4 pairs from Tesco and they fitted perfectly. That was three years ago and they are all worn out and Tesco don't do the same style any more. I do love tatty jeans but they are now just too tatty!!

I used to live in jeans because I look better in them than anything else - I am really frustrated. Back problems make it difficult for me to trail round shops and try things on. :o(
I hate buying fashionable jeans, I have the big bum/hips problem where they are too tight in the hip area and too roomy in the waist, Its hard to find a shop that will cater to different shapes without trawling through the high street which is not my idea of fun.
Oh, Lofty ... you poor thing (with your back)

=0(

This site looks good value, and does a few different cuts ...

have you tried asda trousers lottie? I found they are quite loose on the waist and tight on the hips
'boyfriend' or 'slouch' jeans - a godsend for me as i have a womanly shape (a bit of a tummy and bum). £16 from asda or £14-12 fom matalan. can get them online from next as well in a wide variety of sizes. much better than mens jeans...they take in the attributes of blokes jeans but do allow for waist and bum issues. they also usually have a straight leg which balances out feminine shape nicely. x
Question Author
Peacocks don't do long JJ. Thanks though.

Looks like you and I have the same problem with are two completely different shapes Cazz
Question Author
Trouble is stonekicker, I don't have a feminine shape!!

I am OK in combats and wide leg trousers, because it doesn't matter too much about the baggy legs or hips, but fitted jeans or trousers cause a real problem.
"Peacocks don't do long JJ. Thanks though."

lol opposite again, Im 5'3 ;)
next do long, loftie!!! my hubby is 6'4'' and always shops there. i, on the other hand am a short elbow and use their petite range - you will find jeans in matalan at 33'' as well if that helps x
Question Author
Thanks for the tip about Asda Cazz. Am looking now on their website. x
boyfriend/slouch have the kind of shape that combats do - thats why i buy them. all other jeans leave me either with a gaping space at the back which shows my butt if i bend over, or thighs and bum so tight you get the camel toe issue or are very afraid to sit down! i beg of you - if you haven't tried this shape it is a life saver (i didn't try for ages as i thought it was a 'young' shape and would look silly on me, but was the answer to an 18 month search for decent jeans). look at the next website and compare them to the shape of combats - they aslo do basic boarders for just $14 - bargain!!! x
Question Author
Cazz. These look OK, although I really didn't want the washed look. Cheap enough, so might give them a try. The regular length is actually quite long so don't know whether to order long or regular!! Problems, problems

My sister inlaw works for George in Asda, but she lives over the other side of the country unfortunately.

my god! that's ridiculous - sorry! also don't know how to make it go live, so you will have to copy and paste x
Question Author
Is AB running really slowly, or is it my computer. I keep trying to put replies on but have to wait for ages.

Thanks stonekicker.

Cazz, we will have to go out shopping. We will look like Little and Large together!!
Question Author
Those boyfit jeans are really nice Stonekicker. The problem is that my hips are straight and if I get those really low waisted ones, they fall straight off over my hips, even with a good belt.

I really am making myself out to have a freaky shape. I'm not that bad really!!
oh - ok loftie. my bum definately stops anything falling down! and there was me thinking it was the bane of my life...i guess we all have our sizing issues huh? x
