Hi Julie

I think your parental rights will still be the same they will just be shared with your mum, as in you will both have a say in your sons upbringing/medical care etc.

I would get in touch with the CAB to find out for sure to know where you stand.

what do you mean by shared care? does your child spend the majority of the week with you or your mum?

thanks for your replie, that is a great help. my son spends 90% of the week with me.
with 90% your parental rights should remain unchanged hun x
get your solicitor to discharge the residency! i had same situation and if things go off your mom or social can get a decision you make reverced. it's caused me untold problems because i didnt and social had backed my mom, i had mental probs too. good luck, i trust no one now due to what i went through.

thanks again for the replies, katiecarol i do not have a solicitor i felt that they were also against me, it is soo hard trying to fight a system that is so against me, i like your self trust no one not even my cpn, i will bring that up in court next week when i am there. the social worker at the min seems a bit more down to earth but the one before her was saying to me that she would bet her house on me not ever getting him back. it has been a hard year. hope things are looking better for you. julie x
