Help - I'm at my wit's end. I am in my 30's and have greasy, blemishy skin. I have tried so many different foundations and none of them have worked for me. Today I had some MAC foundation applied and after a few hours it looked awful. I just want something that will give a light coverage and doesn't 'sit' in my pores after a couple of hours and look too obvious that I'm wearing it. I am prepared to pay up to 30 for one so any recommendations would be gratefully appreciated.

I have greasy blemishy skin also, and whenever i apply foundation, around my chin and nose it almost seperates and just sits on my skin. I found cliniques skincare and makeup range brilliant though. They do good colour matches and the foundation is prepared for different skin types. Dry combination or oily combination. I use the superbalanced makeup after ive washed my face with oil balancing face wash and an oil control moisturiser... the only problem i have is that because i have ridiculously fair skin, i have to mix the foundation with a bit of moisturiser in order to thin it. There are literally no foundations that match my skin tone though so if you have normal skin then you should be fine!
oops. i have more!

if you go to boots..? or a department store that has a clinique counter. Even though it seems most of the assistants are coated in layers of makeup and don't come across as very approachable. theyre really helpful and will do a colour test, and if you're not sure, you can get testers. so that you can check it out at home to see if it suits your day to day routine etc.

also just remembered, check out clarins also, possibly a little bit more expensive, but they also have a similar range...
same problem and yes I use Clinique too
Hi,

My skin is exactly the same and drives me to despair. After my last foundation was discontinued, I tried 10 Hour Sleep Effect by Bourjois and it is brilliant. I was a bit sceptical at first because it is only 9 and I had always used products in the 25 - 30 range. However, a friend in the cosmetics industry told me that the company who manufactures Bourjois products is the same one that manufactures Chanel and that a lot of the formulations are very similar.

I always had the problem that unless a product was very sheer (and hence didn't give much coverage) it used to sit in my pores and look horrible. This foundation doesn't do that at all. I have also switched to the Maybelline Dream Matte Powder which is another amazing find for oily skin.

Hope this helps. I also intend to buy the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light soon. Several of my friends have starting using this lately and they all swear by it. I might use it on days when I need more coverage. I have tried it once and although it seems quite thick in the bottle, if you are not too heavy handed with it (I use a slightly damp sponge), it looks very good on. Very natural and it is supposed to stay on for 15 hours.
