Ebay Buyer, grrrr

I sold something 2 Saturdays ago with a 'pay in 10 days or I re-list' I had to file an NPB (non paying bidder) after 10 days (can't re list until dispute resolved) as I had heard nothing. Diddly squat from the buyer

Filed my NPB on Tuesday, sent a 2nd request to Ebay as I didn't hear a thing from the buyer through the NPB and this morning I got an email from said buyer saying she will pay, get this, in the next day or 2!!

Arrgghhh, I am tempted, sorely tempted, to mail back and tell her to pay now or the item will not be available, but unsure of whether or not I can do this. I think I expect too much from buyers because if I win something I ALWAYS, without fail, pay immediately and I expect others ot do the same.

What do you think?

I think you are quite right to be pee'd off. There's really no excuse for them still not to have paid after so long.

I buy a lot from eBay and ALWAYS pay immediately. I have heard many experiences of bad buyers though and that's the reason I have been put off selling on eBay myself.

I am not sure if you are able to give them a deadline to pay but I don't see why not. You can't be expected to wait indefinitely for payment.

I've decided to sit back and wait for payment until Tuesday at the latest. I have 100% feedback right now and I'd rather not have that affected if possible even if she has been a pain in the butt!

She is about to be blocked form buying anything else from me
Who's to say she's going to pay in the next day or 2 ?? ( or 3,4,5,6,7....... probably waiting for month end payday! ) Suggest you re-list now for 3 days and if she hasn't paid then you won't have lost any time.
I buy a lot off ebay too,I would never bid on anything unless I had the funds available to pay immediately upon winning the item. I have 100% positive feedback as a buyer and a score of 186 which I am very proud of. If you decide to sell to this buyer make sure you leave them negative feedback.
When you clearly state payment within 10 days you shouldnt have to wait a fortnight, I think she's unreasonable.
I too always pay immediately.

How is your buyer paying?
Hold on a minute - yes there are undoubtedly bad buyers (as well as sellers) on eBay but there might be a good reason why you had not heard from her - she might have been on holiday or in hospital or her computer broke down or some other good excuse. Expecting immediate payment is rather unrealistic, in my opinion.
Holiday is no excuse - nobody should be bidding if they are going to be away. Internet access is free at local libraries, so loss of internet is no excuse. Hospital is an exception.

The rules state payment should be made within 7 days - or contact made at the very least.

Continue with the NPB, get your fees back and relist.

She hasn't been on holiday - if she was she should have a)let me know or b) never bid! I have had (now) 3 emails none of which have said anything about holiday, hospital etc - in fact she is VERY rude.

She has to pay by paypal as I only accept paypal

Of her last 5 feed backs, 2 are for an NPB

As a buyer I always pay as soon as I have won the item - as I did today and on Monday.

I have decided, thanks to your answers here, she has until tomorrow evening to pay (I make that 2 days) or I will continue with my dispute

I'm with you. They failed to pay and you did the right thing reporting it i would tell them there not getting whatever your selling and they will have a black mark against them - at the end of the day they should have contacted you to let you know what the situation was.Good luck
I've wanted to bid on something but been away when the auction ended. In those cases I have always contacted the seller to make sure it will be OK before bidding. Just good manners. I have had a bad experience with Paypal as a seller recently when I e-mailed them with a problem and they contacted me 11 days later! In the meantime I had posted the parcel and asked for a cheque. Not sure I'll sell again if that's the way Paypal respond.
