Hi all,

Please help me! I used pantene last week ( i know, naughty, but it was on offer and it was supposed to be a money saving move) and i now have a horrible residue on my hair near the root which makes my hair look horribly greasy and it feels horrible. i've washed my hair 5 times since with my usual shampoo but it hasn't washed out. any advice?? I have a special party at the weekend and need it sorting out!

thanks in advance, Lorraine

Not so sure about the pantene shampoos, but I love their conditioners. the thing is, they're very rich, so you don't need to use a lot at once, and maybe that's why you've got residue on your scalp - or perhaps haven't rinsed it enough with hot water?

So just keep washing and rinsing and it should come out??
i had that problem with pantene before im sure.....try using t-gel (its medicated and cleans your scalp)
I would say so, yes. If the residue's definitely due to you using that shampoo, and not just a build up from previous washes that you've only just noticed, then I think scrubbing at the roots of your hair with your fingertips, whilst under a hot shower should remove it. II'd be odd if it didn't go ater that. Good luck with it!
T-gel's lovely, and the lighter one leaves your hair nice and soft, but it's really meant for dandruff & associated comlaints. the only way to relieve a residue of any shampoo is to keep washing it out.
or you could try a cheaper version......vosene
timotei is good for getting rid of build up
Boots do a shampoo that removes previous products from hair. T-gel is quite harsh if your hair is coloured.I would use a swimming type shampoo ( designed to remove chlorine) if you don't want to spend extra and you already have one in the cupboard.
y do you say pantene is naughty? id leave it tonight and wash it again in the morn. washing it to much can aggravate it (im a hairdresser if that helps!)

I said that Pantene was naughty because I've only heard that it's not that great for your hair....I think Fructis went through something similar. I heard when i was younger that it put a coating of silicon or something on your hair which is why it makes it look good...I'm clueless about these things though to be honest!

I washed it twice last night and it seems to be improving slightly. my friend has offered me a chlorine removing shampoo and as i'm trying to get back into swimming this week (first 3 months of pregnancy have been an excuse not to exercise!) then i might give it a go!

thanks everyone, very helpful as always! x
