How should we pronounce the name 'Descartes' ?
Many English speakers leave the middle 'S' out and the last 'E'. eg. 'DAY CART'. Whereas the rules I learned many years ago in school lead me to think this is wrong. Help please.

It's very rude to truncate his first name.
