I haven't bought new specs for many years as I wear lenses but would like to update my old pair of specs in case I ever need to have a day without putting my lenses in. I fancy some of those frameless glasses, the ones that just hold the arm in the actual lens with a bit of metal. Has anyone bought any of these recently and how much (roughly) should I expect to pay? TIA

I bought a pair in Primark for 2.00 - these are just bog standard reading glasses though that come in +1.50, 2.00 and 3.00 . if you have a more compllcated prescription these obviously wouldn't be any use
You can buy cheap glasses online, if you have an up to date prescription, there are also frameless ones:

www.glassesdirect.co.uk
I use www.selectspecs.com they have desinger stuff and cheap stuff.

Very good
Specsavers are about the best on the high street in my opinion.
Have also found http://www.spex4less.com
