I like to get something for people that I think they'll like even if it's jokey or just a bit of fun... so yeah, I guess I put some thought in to it.
Now that I'm working with a load of Women, I got dragged into this secret Santa thing, I had never heard of it until now!! I don't think people need worry, I thing it is more of a laugh and as long as you don't offend the receiver and you buy something nice, no problem!!!
"only" a fiver ... the hardest presents to buy are those that cost the least!
Some people expect the Crown jewels for a fiver at our workplace, I like to think about the recipient, I spent ages choosing this year and she appeared distinctly underwhelmed, oh well
Last year somebody bought me a huge chunk of Brie (I do love it!) but we didn't get to dish out the 'Secret Santa' pressies till the next day. We walked into the office to this terrible smell which I identified as my present. I opened it up and to this day I still laugh that somebody thought I would like a fivers worth of radioactive cheese!
