It is still open, msemma, but is moving to Formby in October (I think). Don't know if it's due to poor sales, but I had a long chat with the manager last week and he said that the new store is slightly smaller than Southport, but is lovely as it has just been refurbished. It's in the centre of Formby and has its own big carpark, better than the one over the Southport branch.

As I come down from the Blackpool area to Southport I was really hacked off at first about the move, but I was assured it's only a few miles down the road and will only take about 10-15 minutes more. If I'm travelling 55 minutes already I suppose it isn't much more. And I can only afford to shop there very occasionally anyway, when I've just been paid,as I overspend drastically!

I phoned up the branch and they said they are closing on the 7th October, when the new store opens in Formby, which will not be a newly built store - they are taking over Morrisons in the centre of Formby (the one that used to be Safeway). It was always quiet in the Southport store, and I heard from a person within another retail company in the region that it was closing due to poor sales.
